White Pine Fire and Ice Show 2007
ELY, Nev.—What has quickly become a national event, the White Pine Fire and Ice Show, now in its third year, is a highly visual, two-day snow- and ice-sculpture competition followed by a fireworks display over a frozen, high-desert lake. The event was held January 13 and 14 at Cave Lake State Park, 15 miles southeast of Ely.

More than 1,400 acres at the Carson River Ranches, Nevada state park have been treated for weeds using goats for prescribed grazing. Park regional manager Eric Johnson explains the project and the benefit to the state.
Burros on a Boat: A BLM burro gather at Lake Mead
In March 2007, the Bureau of Land Management gathered wild burros at Lake Mead in Southern Nevada. Nevada’s Wild Horse Program administrator came along to discuss the gather process as the burros were transported by boat across the lake.
INITIAL ATTACK: Nevada Division of Forestry’s Air Operations
An inside view of the Nevada Division of Forestry’s initial attack response team based in Minden, Nevada. Meet the Air Operations personnel and see how the division provides support fighting wildland fires in Nevada and California. By July 31, 2007, the team conducted initial attack operations on 30 fires for a total of 93 hours of flying time. The peak of the 2007 fire season had not yet begun.
Lake Tahoe Sand Harbor Visitor Center
Governor Jim Gibbons helped celebrate the grand opening of the Sand Harbor Visitor Center June 15, 2007 at Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park. The grand opening featured McAvoy Layne as Mark Twain, a ribbon cutting ceremony by Governor Jim Gibbons and tours and talks about the park provided by Nevada Division of State Parks staff.
Nevada 2007 Arbor Day Celebration in Carson City
The Nevada Division of Forestry and the Carson City Shade Tree Council hosted a tree planting ceremony in honor of Arbor Day and the Division of Forestry’s 50th Anniversary on April 27, 2007. The ceremony was held at the Nevada Firefighter’s Memorial in Mills Park, Carson City.
