This announcement is the first confirmed stimulus fund project for Nevada of which we are aware. Since the Truckee Canal is owned by the federal government and operated by the local water district, I encourage you to call the local water district to see what progress is being made on the Canal and if funds are anticipated. Is there anything in this enormous spending bill which will fix the canal at Fernley in Lyon CO? There is a crucial need for this to be done and going nowhere at this point.

It’s great to hear of such collaboration across state lines. Backyard conservation, education, and outreach are key to keeping Lake Tahoe clean. The Angora Fire was a major catalyst for local resident’s to create defensible space, not only to protect their homes but also to protect lake clarity and health. Also, invasive species seem to be becoming more prevalent. Has there been much work done to educate residents about aquatic invasives in Lake Tahoe? They are another major piece of the puzzle to protecting the lake’s ecosystem.

Thanks for your comment. The state’s budget is established by the Governor and Legislature every other year based on economic projections so changes to the state’s tax system would have to go through that process.

I was wondering why doesn’t the state create a 3% state income tax. This way every resident of the state of Nevada can help get out of the budget crunch instead of just pentalizing the State workers. I believe that every resident should be responsible for the Nevada Budget.

thank you trying to come up with a solution to the launch problem. I fish maybe 2-3 days a week from cave rock. I only fish tahoe so no problem. yes it is a motorized boat and i usually go at 1/2 hour before sunrise thanks again steve 246-9290
