Firefighting sheep to start arriving Sunday in Carson City

Dangberg Historic Home Ranch Opens for Tours April 1

GARDNERVILLE, Nev.–The Nevada Division of State Parks is pleased to announce the opening of the Dangberg Historic Home Ranch. Beginning April 1, 2007 park staff and volunteers will offer tours of the historic site.

Cathedral Gorge State Park is known for its carved, dramatic cliffs and canyons, remnants of a Pliocene-era lakebed. More than 50,000 visitors each year enjoy hiking trails for exploring the cave-like formations and cathedral-like spires. Miller Point, a scenic overlook, offers excellent views of the scenic canyon. Cathedral Gorge is 165 miles northeast of Las Vegas via Interstate 15 North and U.S. Highway 93. A 24-unit campground is open year-round.
